Have a very Gary Christmas!

So, my sister in law, Summer, has recently become good friends with Gary Coleman and his wife. She met them at his holiday store that he and his wife run out of their garage somewhere down south of Provo. If you know Summer, this is not at all surprising, though still very entertaining. I just thought some of you might enjoy the holiday greeting!

Davis' First Santa Pictures

Well, another childhood milestone has come and passed. Davis had his first pictures with Santa! They are not "official" mall shots (since we all know that is where the real Santa lives and/or visits), but one of the Christmas parties we attended had Santa come to visit, and we couldn't resist snapping a few shots. Davis was actually a really good sport and kept smiling for me, so I thought I'd share. Merry Christmas!!!

Pre-Christmas party season

It's official. The Christmas party season is here. Bryson and I, who are typically very antisocial people with absolutely no plans other than family dinners, have 4 parties this week. (Okay, so 3 of them are for church and the other one was for work, but still!) I just think it's funny that we go the entire year without any dinner or party plans, then we get 4 in one week. Good times. I love this time of year, but I just hope that we can survive the season without having to jump up another pant size. Wish us luck!
By the way, I also want to mention that I LOVE Bryon's company! We have been so blessed to find a good career and great people to work with. They completely spoiled us with bonuses and presents this year. It is amazing how much less stressful life is when your husband has a good job that makes him happy and brings home the bacon! We are so grateful for that this year!
Here are some pictures from this week:

Thanksgiving and a Cougar win

Happy belated thanksgiving! We had a great one here. The highlight was having my mom in town to spend it with us. The down side was that in an effort to fatten up my mom (which, by the way, I did... I believe she gained a whopping 2 pounds), I also managed to fatten myself up by the same amount. Oh well. I am a victim to my holiday appetite, but the food was awesome, so I say it was worth it. On a side note, my mom and I made what was quite possibly the best apple pie ever. Try not to be jealous.
The other exciting event of the weekend was the BYU-Utah game. I'm sure all of you Cougar fans are out there celebrating with me. It was a great game, a nail biter right down to the final play. For all of you Utah fans, I will just refer you to the picture of my nephew, Max.

Happy Birthday Bryson!

Today is Bryson's 29th Birthday, and he is greiving over the sad truth that he only has one more year of his twenties left. I, however, wanted to take a minute to celebrate my husband and best friend. Without getting too mushy, I will just say that I am a lucky woman. I could not dream up a better spouse for me, and I am not suprised to see that he is also an amazing dad. I am grateful every day for finding such an amazing man that was somehow fooled into falling for me. I love you, sweetie! Happy Birthday!

Halloween 2007

I'm probably the last person in the blogging world to post my Halloween pictures, but here you go! Davis was the cutest, most serious penguin ever! He did not smile once while he had his costume on (a combination of being tired from having a hard day, and the fact that the head piece squished his face in). He also made an appearance as an escaped con from Alcatraz (Bryson brought back a cute outfit from his business trip in San Francisco, and I couldn't resist). Kobe was very popular with the neighborhood children as Super dog, and he was kind enough not to share his super abilities of loud barking, annoyance, and awe-inspiring shedding.

Family Time

We are so lucky to have Bryson's family so nearby. Not only do we get amazing babysitters while I'm at work, but we also have automatic weekend plans. We almost always do sunday family dinners, and lately we have saturday BYU games. I thought I'd share some recent pictures from our weekend rituals. Enjoy!

Daily Miracles

One of my best friend's dads always used to talk about his daily miracles, and sometimes I have a day that reminds me to look for mine. Today was one of those days. My week actually started out really badly. The highlights include: my car broke, my computer monitor broke, my babysitter got really sick (spinal meningitis), Bryson got me sick right before he went out of town for a business trip, etc, etc, etc... and of course the worst thing was that my mom was evacuated from her house with a very real danger of it burning down. Well, today everything started turning around. It all started when I found out that I only owed $50 on a medical bill that I thought was going to be $750. Then, while at work, I walked downstairs to pump, and right there in the hallway were 4 perfectly good computer monitors with signs on them that said, "take me!" Hallelujia! It is now looking like my car repairs will be less expensive than I anticipated. Thanks to Bryson's wonderful aunt, we have been able to solve the babysitting problem for now as well. Finally, my mom got to move back into her house today, and it looks like everything is fine (despite some ash and smoke). Sometimes I think we get challenges and trials just so we can see the Lord's hand in our lives. I am always amazed by the ways that He works things out for me. So, today, I am very grateful for my daily miracles! p.s. Jyl, if you're reading this and you are wondering... Yes, it is your dad I was refering to! ;-)

Ready for Halloween?

Well, I don't know if I am or not, but Davis is definitely ready for Halloween! He's got his costume ready to go, but he is very impatient and insisted that I dress him in halloween pj's and onesies this week. Here's a little peek at his halloween spirit.

3 Months!!!

I just wanted to tell everyone that today is Davis' 3 month birthday! He's getting so big. For his sort-of-birthday, feel free to shower him with presents. He has asked me to tell everyone that he really enjoys clothes for mom, spa packages, chocolate, really cute shoes in mom's size, and anything that would look great in the house. (the kid has great taste!) Maybe I'll have to tie a ribbon on his bottle tonight in celebration of his big day. Just kidding!

Our Fun Weekend

Well, the Millers are finally going to get some face time on the blog! Crystal and the family were out here for Taylor's wedding, so we got to play a little bit over the weekend. Dad and Meg came too, which was great fun. I can't believe how old Meg looks with her braces! Some of the highlights from the weekend were: watching Max dance at the reception (check out Crystal's blog for pictures of him in his cute little suit), stuffing ourselves at Tucano's, and playing family feud with the projector big screen. I am ashamed to say that the MacDonald-Mull families got our trash kicked by the Miller families (plural because Tami Miller joined the dark side and played with the Ryan Miller family). Not to fear though, because I had a small moment of redemption when we regrouped and the girls slaughtered the boys. After everyone left us, we had our usual family dinner at Bryson's parents house, and I took a ton of pictures of Davis (shocking, I know). Grandma Tamara got him an adorable outfit with a lion hood sweater, and I couldn't resist snapping away. Enjoy the pics!

Back to Work

Well, yesterday was my first day back to work, and I am sure that I cried much more than Davis. I basically cried the whole way to work, and I wanted to cry for large portions of the day afterward. I miss my little guy so much! For those of you who don't know, I work at Myriad Pharmaceuticals as a research associate, which is a great job... but it is kind of far from our house. With no traffic and lots of speeding, I can get to work in 35 minutes, but most days it takes longer, and there is always traffic on the way home. So, it's a long day away from my little munchkin. I pretty much hate being back, but hopefully, it's not for long. The nice thing is that Davis is being watched by his grandma and aunt (Bryson's mom and Aunt Kim). I am so happy and relieved to have family watching him, but it is still so hard to be away all day. Keep your fingers crossed that all will go well and I'll be back at home with him soon! (by the way, I'll be posting some cute pictures from last weekend soon... it's about time that Crystal and family get some pictures on here!)

Littlest Cougar Fan

There was a BYU game on saturday, and Bryson and I decided it was about time that Davis get some official BYU gear, so this is what we ended up with. (We had to include the hat because it was so cold yesterday that it actually snowed... in September!) He was so stinkin cute that I couldn't resist taking some pictures and posting them. By the way, we won the game! Go Cougars!

blessing slide show

Crystal already created a post for Davis's blessing (labor day weekend), but I decided to add a slideshow with more pictures of the little man in his tux. It was so funny on him! Enjoy!

Davis in San Diego: little man, big adventures

Okay, so the adventures weren't so big, but we had a good time. Bryson had a little business trip in San Diego, so Davis and I decided to join him in the San Diego sun. We had a great time at grandma's house. The weather was beautiful, the food was plentiful and delish, and we got a lot of time to just relax and hang out. We did a nice little hike along the beach and cliffs to see a beautiful sunset, hung out at the pool, went for a few walks with the dogs (almost got attacked by a neighbor's dog... that was exciting), got to see John-Kai and Meg, etc, etc. Good times. Davis already misses his grandma, but I'm sure we'll be back soon. click on the link to see our slideshow from the trip.

Coming Soon... Davis in San Diego

Since my ever so blog-gifted sister is apparently highly impatient and threatens to never create a blog for me again just because I haven't posted yet, I am posting a little teaser. Oh, it's going to be amazing... pictures of Davis at the beach, pictures of Davis in his New Year's outfit (what could that be, you ask.... well, you will just have to wait and find out. Is the anticipation killing you?). Oh, just wait. There will be a post, and it will be everything you hoped and dreamed it would be. And since Crystal is the only one reading all of this, no one else will ever know if it isn't all I promised. Muahahhahahaha!

Take THAT blog world! Here I come!!!

Davis's Blessing

Last weekend we blessed our precious baby boy. The blessing was beautiful and we enjoyed a wonderful day. Almost all of our family was in town for the blessing and day would have been perfect if my fabulous sister Crystal, her husband, and their two extremely cute kids were here also. I love the little tux he is in. He looks like such a little man. Maybe we will get him a matching one on his wedding day. Hahaha.

Here We Are!

Finally we are bloggers. My sister Crystal will be so happy. Hopefully this will help all our family get their fix of Davis. Enjoy!
