Daily Miracles

One of my best friend's dads always used to talk about his daily miracles, and sometimes I have a day that reminds me to look for mine. Today was one of those days. My week actually started out really badly. The highlights include: my car broke, my computer monitor broke, my babysitter got really sick (spinal meningitis), Bryson got me sick right before he went out of town for a business trip, etc, etc, etc... and of course the worst thing was that my mom was evacuated from her house with a very real danger of it burning down. Well, today everything started turning around. It all started when I found out that I only owed $50 on a medical bill that I thought was going to be $750. Then, while at work, I walked downstairs to pump, and right there in the hallway were 4 perfectly good computer monitors with signs on them that said, "take me!" Hallelujia! It is now looking like my car repairs will be less expensive than I anticipated. Thanks to Bryson's wonderful aunt, we have been able to solve the babysitting problem for now as well. Finally, my mom got to move back into her house today, and it looks like everything is fine (despite some ash and smoke). Sometimes I think we get challenges and trials just so we can see the Lord's hand in our lives. I am always amazed by the ways that He works things out for me. So, today, I am very grateful for my daily miracles! p.s. Jyl, if you're reading this and you are wondering... Yes, it is your dad I was refering to! ;-)

Ready for Halloween?

Well, I don't know if I am or not, but Davis is definitely ready for Halloween! He's got his costume ready to go, but he is very impatient and insisted that I dress him in halloween pj's and onesies this week. Here's a little peek at his halloween spirit.

This is Davis doing his best scary skeleton face

He is enjoying his new Bumbo seat

so happy (and goofy)

3 Months!!!

I just wanted to tell everyone that today is Davis' 3 month birthday! He's getting so big. For his sort-of-birthday, feel free to shower him with presents. He has asked me to tell everyone that he really enjoys clothes for mom, spa packages, chocolate, really cute shoes in mom's size, and anything that would look great in the house. (the kid has great taste!) Maybe I'll have to tie a ribbon on his bottle tonight in celebration of his big day. Just kidding!

Our Fun Weekend

Well, the Millers are finally going to get some face time on the blog! Crystal and the family were out here for Taylor's wedding, so we got to play a little bit over the weekend. Dad and Meg came too, which was great fun. I can't believe how old Meg looks with her braces! Some of the highlights from the weekend were: watching Max dance at the reception (check out Crystal's blog for pictures of him in his cute little suit), stuffing ourselves at Tucano's, and playing family feud with the projector big screen. I am ashamed to say that the MacDonald-Mull families got our trash kicked by the Miller families (plural because Tami Miller joined the dark side and played with the Ryan Miller family). Not to fear though, because I had a small moment of redemption when we regrouped and the girls slaughtered the boys. After everyone left us, we had our usual family dinner at Bryson's parents house, and I took a ton of pictures of Davis (shocking, I know). Grandma Tamara got him an adorable outfit with a lion hood sweater, and I couldn't resist snapping away. Enjoy the pics!

Back to Work

Well, yesterday was my first day back to work, and I am sure that I cried much more than Davis. I basically cried the whole way to work, and I wanted to cry for large portions of the day afterward. I miss my little guy so much! For those of you who don't know, I work at Myriad Pharmaceuticals as a research associate, which is a great job... but it is kind of far from our house. With no traffic and lots of speeding, I can get to work in 35 minutes, but most days it takes longer, and there is always traffic on the way home. So, it's a long day away from my little munchkin. I pretty much hate being back, but hopefully, it's not for long. The nice thing is that Davis is being watched by his grandma and aunt (Bryson's mom and Aunt Kim). I am so happy and relieved to have family watching him, but it is still so hard to be away all day. Keep your fingers crossed that all will go well and I'll be back at home with him soon! (by the way, I'll be posting some cute pictures from last weekend soon... it's about time that Crystal and family get some pictures on here!)
